Welcome

As I'm sure you would agree, Seminole County has been good to all of us and has been a great place to live. For me, this is where my wife, Lisa, and I started our family and opened our own business, a small independent insurance agency. Unfortunately, the current economic times have created hardships for everyone. There is no easy answer to a national recession. But I believe if we make wise and prudent decisions, we can still emerge stronger on the other side.

As a conservative Republican and small business owner, I believe President Obama and Congress are quickly leading us down the wrong road of mounting debts, bigger government and too much control over our individual lives.

While a county commissioner can't change Washington, DC, I do believe we can make Seminole County an example that even Washington can learn from. That's why, in my one term in office:

  • I voted for lower taxes every year than when I took office
  • I voted to balance the budget by cutting government spending
  • I worked to attract new businesses that bring new and higher paying jobs

Those will continue to be my priorities. If you agree, I ask for your vote and your support and invite you to join my team by ordering a yard sign.

Sincerely, Mike McLean

Seminole County Commissioner, District 2
